When I had 6 years my grandfathers put in my hands an old guitar, with two broken strings, and since then I haven´t let nor only a day live for the music.

I studied classic guitar in the Real Conservatory of Madrid. In order to study jazz and rock and modern music in general I have participated in masters class and seminaries with musicians like Gary Burton, Pat Metheny, Roland Dyens, Manuel Barrueco, Williams Waters, Rick Peckham, Larry Baione, Jim Kelly… etc, etc, and at the moment I´m making to Certification Masters in Songwriting on Berkleemusic.com. The great goal of my life is to be able to license in Berklee College of Music.

While living in Madrid-Spain I was heavily involved in the poprock music scene, playing mainly with "Tacones", "Los Pistones" and "Lejos de Allí" recorded 6 albums with these bands and I was in the TopTens of the music lists of my country. Also I worked with the producers and composers Gonzalo and Ivan Garcia-Pelayo several years on productions and sonwriting record and Tv. I realize some gigs with several solo artist and recorded for music and direct tv programs. During 8 years I worked in advertising for different agencies, and formed my own record studio, recording more than 300 spots for radio and TV.

At the moment I live near Valencia, next to the Mediterranean Sea, reason why my music has been influenced by the loudness of the own instruments of this earth, and little by little I have been studying and playing the Portuguese Guitar, the Egyptian Oud, the Turkish Saz, the Italian Mandola and Mandolina, the Greeck Bouzouki, the Guimbri Berebere, and some wind instruments like the ney, saphon, whistle, and different ethnic flutes. Now I study also Viola da Gamba, and I´am following several courses and seminaries on Renaissance Music.

I teach on the Municipal School of Music of my city
for the past ten years and also play with the Camara Orchestra and with The Bras BigBand.

Q:What are you working on now?
A: I am working as guitar and bass professor, and I am adapting what I learn at Songwriting Master to the Spanish language, because they are many differences in the metrics, accents, prosody and writing English. I also apply all this knowledge to the study of our own affairs Latin culture, as important as the copla, bolero, tango, ranchera, salsa, flamenco ... And I hope to implement all this in the next courses with my own students. In my school there are about six hundred students, we study all kinds of classical and modern instrumnets, harmony, composition ... but very few students can finish their songs in a satisfactory way.

Q:What kind of people or opportunities are you hoping to find on Berkleemusic?
A: I am working on writing songs. With the techniques that I am learning, taking Berklee classes, I am finishing a ton of songs that was abandoned because I was not able to compose really as I wanted. Now I love what I am writing. I hope to write songs by majors artists someday.

This year I have decided not gig out live, because I am writing a "possible future book" about lyrics on Latin music, bolero, tango, salsa, flamenco, bossa, fado, Spanish song... I thought, after many rewrite hours&hours&hours, the syllabus, and I have already written four chapters, but it is the first book that I write and it is complicated. I am also working on creating my own website, in addition to my work and studies daily. Anyway, I still rehearsing and arranging new topics with the groups that routinely collaborate and now I play out with "Professors Ensemble" on May 12, with items from one of our favorite composers, Ludovico Enaudi.

December 31, 2007
Today was just an unbelievable years. First still I can not believe it has achieved a scholarship. From here my thanks to the whole team berklkeemusic.com by this distinction that I have been given, economic and morally is a big morale boost to be able to finish my projects at Berklee. Especially I would like to thank Andrea Stolpe, a professor with which I have been studying since January 2007, for their patience with my "bad english," for all the knowledge that I was taught, and convey the passion for writing. His course "Commercial Songwriting Techniques" has been particularly exciting.
All projects at the Municipal School continues, as well as the various groups and orchestras with which collaborates regularly. Yesterday I confirmed the recording of the new album "Second Hand", which I will work with the bass and contrabass, and playing some ethnic instruments, because it will be a work based on the "Songbook Sephardic Mediterranean." I hope that 2008 will bring as much joy as this year is now off. Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year to all the community brekleemusic.com
