My new album "The Eye of God" is up on iTunes, and only on iTunes. No more CDs for me...

It's a 19 track collection of psychedelic songs, mostly recorded by me alone at home, featuring snake-charmer guitar and reality-bent lyrics...

December 18, 2005
On December 12, 2005, my band Rivers and Skies released its first CD, by the same name.

The CD has 18 tracks, totaling over 66 minutes long. We describe the music as “pastoral electronica” -- an ambient, dreamy, instrumental journey into a calm, alert, gently mind-expanded space that flows like, well, rivers and skies. It's perfect for deep listening, or for creating an atmosphere for reading, writing, painting, conversation, sipping tea, laying on the floor, or anything else that suits you...

Rivers And Skies are: Jim Whisenant - Chapman Stick, electric cello, programming and processing; Jim Buhrendorf - electric, acoustic, slide, lap steel and 12-string guitars; and Ed Blomquist – electric bass and guitar, synth, winds, programming and processing.

Blending stringed instruments with computer-based digital signal processing results in a mix of the best of both analog and digital soundworlds. The design of the CD cover, with beautiful moody photos from Canada and Finland, complements the vibe of the music perfectly.

Listener response has been very favorable. If you’re interested in getting a copy, please feel free to drop me a line at eblomquist@berklee.edu. The CD is only $10 in hand, or $12 by mail in the US. Sample tracks are at our website, www.riversandskies.com. Please pass this along to anyone who might dig this…
